The Role

MPP Orora Brea is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in our Brea, CA location.

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance and repair activities on machinery, equipment, and facilities in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards. The

incumbent will work closely with the maintenance team to ensure that all equipment and machinery are maintained and repaired to minimize downtime and optimize production.

What You’ll be Responsible For in this Role

  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facilities, including lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and machinery malfunctions, determining thecause and repairing or replacing defective parts as necessary.

  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including inspections, lubrication, andadjustments, in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.

  • Maintain and repair electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as mechanicalsystems, such as gears, bearings, and shafts.

  • Fabricate, repair, or modify equipment parts, using welding, cutting, lathe, or millingmachines.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records, including work orders, logs,and maintenance reports.

  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of personal protectiveequipment and lockout/tagout procedures.

  • Participate in training programs to improve technical skills and knowledge of newequipment and technology.

  • Assist in the installation, start-up, and commissioning of new equipment.

  • Monitor and order spare parts and supplies as necessary to ensure adequate inventorylevels.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Completion of a technical school program or apprenticeship in maintenance or arelated field.

  • At least 3 years of experience in maintenance and repair of machinery and equipmentin a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 standards and other regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and diagrams.

  • Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools, as well as machine shop equipment.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
